Being in the Upper School was a 3 year stint where it was ballet all day long, no school work at all - great! I moved into a flat in Barons Court, just round the corner from Talgarth Road. The Royal Ballet Company also practiced at Talgarth Road and we would often see them - very awesome. I enjoyed my time as a "student" immensely and loved going to our canteen during breaks (& often when skipping classes too!) and got to know a few of the Company. I was quite surprised how "normal" they were, not at all stuck up or above themselves! As students, we gave numerous performances at places like Holland Park, Dartford, Hampton Court, St. Albans & Thurrock. I had a couple of duets and solos in these which was great. 
I also appeared in Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Romeo & Juliet & La Bayadere with the Ballet Company at The Opera House, and was also in 3 operas - no, not singing, dancing! In our final year as students, we had

the School Matinee at The Opera House which was when the Royal Ballet Company "heads" came to watch and make their selection of who they would pick to join the Company. I performed in "Napoli" and did the 2nd solo. I had some very nice write-ups and was very lucky to be chosen to join the Royal Ballet Resident Company.
